Mark Ella (born October 5, 1970 in Uppsala , Sweden ) is a Bremen politician ( FDP , non-party ). He was a member of the Bremen Parliament .

Ella grew up as the son of a German and a British in the Ruhr area . In 1989, after graduating from high school in Mülheim an der Ruhr , he completed a. a. trained as a chemical laboratory assistant and completed his studies in chemical engineering as a Dipl.-Ing. from. Later he studied general management part-time in Hamburg . From 2001 to 2011 he worked in a leading position in companies in the environmental sector. Since January 2012 he has been heading the north branch of the Haus der Technik in Bremerhaven .

Ella has been married to the politician Susan Ella-Mittrenga (Greens) since April 2011 .

politics

Ella joined the FDP in Bremerhaven in 2002 . In April 2004 he was elected deputy state chairman of the FDP in Bremen and was confirmed in office in May 2008 with just one vote against. Since June 2004 he has been the chairman of the Bremen regional association of the Association of Liberal Local Politicians (VLK) . In this function he was also a member of the national board of the VLK. In December 2010, he was elected federal chairman of the municipal political advisory council in Plauen. From 2007 to 2009 he was elected to the federal executive committee of the FDP. In July 2011 he resigned from the FDP.

From 2003 to 2011 Ella was chairman of the FDP parliamentary group in the city ​​council of Bremerhaven and, among other things, a member of the finance and economic committee and the committee for school and culture. Since leaving, he has been a non-party member of the city council.

As Bremen's top candidate of the FDP, Ella was a member of the Bremen citizenship from 2007 to 2011 . He was deputy chairman of the FDP parliamentary group until he lost his parliamentary group status. He was a member of the Committee for Port Affairs, the Economic Deputation, the Science Committee and the Deputation for Culture, which elected him spokesperson.

On March 7, 2012, Mark Ella was elected chairman of the General German Bicycle Club (ADFC) district association Bremerhaven.
