Mark Forest
Mark Forest (born January 16, 1933 in Brooklyn , New York City , NY ; actually Lou Degni ) is an American bodybuilder , actor and opera singer .
Life
Forest, who started bodybuilding early, initially worked on exercise programs for the physically challenged . After a few competitions, he was discovered for the film. After Steve Reeves, he was the second American to be hired by Italian producers to act in Peplums .
Between 1960 and 1965 Forest appeared in twelve feature films in which he a. a. Maciste , Goliath and Hercules embodied. Like most of these commercial films without artistic aspirations, they hardly left a lasting impression, but were later viewed as naive fairy tales and examples of the escapism of the time.
After finishing his film career, Forest went back to the United States, where he studied singing and still sings in operas and teaches this subject. He lives in Arleta , California .
