Mark Lenard

Mark Lenard (* 15. October 1924 as Leonard Rosenson in Chicago , Illinois ; † 22. November 1996 in New York City ) was an American actor .

Life

Mark Lenard was born to the Jewish-Russian immigrants Abraham and Bessie. He studied for foreign service in order to later work as an ambassador. After that he started working as an actor. He met his future wife Ann while filming. With her he had two daughters.

Mark Lenard was successful as an actor for over 50 years. He gained the greatest fame through the impersonation of the ambassador Sarek in Star Trek , who was also the father of Mr. Spock. Before impersonating Sarek, he played the commander of a Romulan warbird .

Lenard played a Klingon captain in the first Star Trek movie. Mark Lenard also starred in series apart from Star Trek , for example, he had recurring roles in Cobra, Take Over and Planet of the Apes . Mark Lenard attended Star Trek conventions .

In 1996 Lenard died of multiple myeloma .
