Mark McShane

Mark McShane (born November 28, 1929 in Sydney , Australia , † August 28, 2013 in Sa Cabaneta , Mallorca ) was a British writer . He wrote 30 novels under the pseudonym Marc Lovell .

Life

Mark McShane's family is Roma . He studied in Blackpool and Lancashire from 1935 to 1945 . He then traveled to all five continents until 1960 before settling in Mallorca in 1960 . In the same year he made his debut as a writer with The Straight and the Crooked . By 2002 he finally published over 50 novels, mainly thrillers and detective novels, covering almost every genre, from serious to satirical and realistic to paranormal. His greatest success was his third novel Séance on a Wet Afternoon , published in 1961 , which was published in 1969 by Heyne Verlag in Munich under the German title Games for a Hot Afternoon . The book was filmed twice, once in 1964 with Kim Stanley and Richard Attenborough as On a Cloudy Afternoon and in 2001 as a Japanese remake under the title Seance - The Horror .

On Wednesday, August 28, 2013, McShane died at the age of 83 as a result of a stroke in his home in Sa Cabaneta, Mallorca.
