action

Myra Savage (Kim Stanley) is a medium who holds seances in her apartment. Her husband Bill (Richard Attenborough), who has asthma, works as her assistant. On behalf of his wife, he kidnaps the daughter of a wealthy couple. This child is being held in a room in her home that looks like a room in a hospital. Disguised as a nurse, Myra gives the child the impression that they are actually in a hospital. She now gives the police the impression that she is getting into contact with the child with the help of her media skills, and she gets paid for this. When the police investigate the two, Bill realizes that Myra does not want to let the child live. All of this is overshadowed by the death of Myra's own child (Arthur). This died in childbirth and is now Myra's media contact.

criticism

"A detective film deviating from the cliché, with an oppressive atmosphere, which in a largely artistic way combines criminalistic tension with the study of a mental illness."
