Laurel Award
The Laurel Awards were US national film awards , presented annually from 1948 to 1968 and from 1970 to 1971 to the best films and filmmakers of the previous year. The winners, who were awarded the Golden Laurel ( German Golden Laurel ), were selected in a survey by the Motion Picture Exhibitor magazine of American and Canadian movie theater owners. In contrast to other film prizes such as the Oscar or the Golden Globes , the Laurel Awards did not have an award ceremony. The results of the survey were published in Motion Picture Exhibitor Magazine, usually in September of each year.
