Mark Pharaoh

Mark Pharaoh (born July 18, 1931 in the London Borough of Wandsworth ) is a retired British discus thrower , shot putter and hammer thrower .

In 1952 he retired from qualifying in the discus throw at the Olympic Games in Helsinki . At the 1953 International University Sports Week in Dortmund, he won the discus throw and won silver in the shot put and hammer throw.

In 1954 he won bronze in the discus throw for England at the British Empire and Commonwealth Games in Vancouver . In the shot put he finished sixth, in the hammer throw he failed in qualification. At the European Athletics Championships in Bern he was tenth in the discus throw and came in 16th place in the shot put.

At the Olympic Games in Melbourne in 1956 , he was fourth in the discus throw.

He was the English champion in discus throwing four times (1952, 1953, 1955, 1956).
