Mark "The Pokerbok" Vos (born October 20, 1983 in Cape Town , South Africa ) is a former professional Australian poker player .

Poker career

Vos started playing poker professionally in 2006. He was already considered a top amateur in online poker . Choosing between studying and pursuing a career as a professional poker player, Vos decided to play poker. Overall, he won more than 1.3 million dollars in live poker tournaments.

To Vos' biggest successes was the eighth place in the Main Event of the Aussie Millions Poker Championship in Melbourne in 2006, where he 83,600 Australian dollars won. In July 2006 he won in the World Series of Poker (WSOP) in the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas , a tournament variant No Limit Hold'em and won over $ 800,000 and a bracelet . He fought a two-hour head-up fight against Nam Le . When Vos returned to Australia, he picked up another title at the Victorian Poker Championship finals , which brought him close to 50,000 Australian dollars. At the 2008 WSOP , Vos finished in 80,000th place in the main event, worth nearly $ 80,000 .
