The MVB Marketing and Publishing Services of the book trade GmbH, headquartered in Frankfurt am Main is a subsidiary of the General Association Association of German Book Trade . It works under the umbrella of the Börsenverein Beteiligungsgesellschaft mbh. Ronald Schild has been the company's managing director since 2006 .

In 1947, the company was founded under the name of Booksellers Association and in 2003 it was renamed MVB. Like the Booksellers Association before, the MVB offers publishing products and services for the marketing of books.

These include the directory of deliverable books (VLB), the Börsenblatt - weekly magazine for the German book trade , and the book journal . Furthermore, the MVB offers the book gift service and the address book for the German-speaking book trade . In 2009 the Informationsverbund Buchhandel (IBU) was taken over by the bookseller-accounting company (BAG) .

From 2002 to 2004 the Archive for the History of the German Book Industry was also one of the publishing houses.

At the beginning of 2008, the industry platform Libreka! online, after the previous version full text search online (VTO) had already started its test operation since February 2007 . Since then, Libreka! developed into a platform for deliverable, German-language titles. Since spring 2009 Libreka! also the possibility of buying and downloading e-books . In December 2014 this offer was integrated into the website www.buchhandel.de and the name Libreka was abandoned.
