Marko Frank

Marko Frank (born December 25, 1968 in Friedrichroda ) is a German Nordic combined athlete who competed for the German Democratic Republic . He belonged to the ASK Vorwärts Oberhof and took part in the 1988 Winter Olympics in Calgary .

Career

In 1987 he took part in the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships in the Italian municipality of Asiago . In the individual competition he won the bronze medal behind his compatriot Thomas Prenzel and the Norwegian Trond Arne Bredesen . He won the gold medal together with Thomas Abratis and Thomas Prenzel in a team competition. In the same year he took part in the Nordic World Ski Championships in 1987 in Oberstdorf . In the individual competition he came in 15th and together with Thomas Abratis and Uwe Prenzel took sixth place in the team competition.

On January 9, 1988, he won his first World Cup points in the Nordic Combined World Cup. In the 1987/88 season competition in St. Moritz , Switzerland , he took seventh place. This seventh place is his best result in the World Cup. He finished the World Cup in 15th place with a total of 24 points. In the 1987/88 season he was also allowed to take part in the 1988 Olympic Games in Calgary . In the individual competition, he finished eighth. Together with Thomas Prenzel and Uwe Prenzel, he took fifth place in the team competition.
