Marko Pantermöller

Marko Pantermöller (born May 12, 1970 in Lübz , Mecklenburg ) is a German fenist and Scandinavian player . He is currently professor of fencing at the University of Greifswald .

Life

Pantermöller studied fencing and Scandinavian studies at the Ernst-Moritz-Arndt University of Greifswald as well as the Svenska handelshögskolan Helsingfors and the Helsingin yliopisto . He was a scholarship holder of the Friedrich Ebert Foundation .

In 2002 Pantermöller received his doctorate at the University of Greifswald with the dissertation The Problem History of Linguistic-Lexical Assessment, Classification and Orthographic Integration of Foreign Words in Finnish , for which he received the 2002 doctoral award. In 2008 his habilitation took place with the writing Studies on Aspects of Abessivity in the Finnish written language of the 16th-19th centuries. Century . This was followed by the award of the Venia legendi (private lecturer) for the field of Fen Studies (linguistics and literary studies) at the Ernst Moritz Arndt University of Greifswald. Research and Teaching

Pantermöller teaches language , literature and translation . His focus areas include language planning and language maintenance , language ideology and politics , orthography , translation theory and criticism as well as language contact and language change research ; primarily in relation to Finnish. In his habilitation thesis and in his teaching, he also touches on the smaller Baltic Finnish languages. Pantermöller led the conception of the integrated course LANGUAGE VARIETY. Linguistics of Anglophone , Baltic, Finnish, Scandinavian and Slavic cultures and works as course speaker.

Memberships

Pantermöller is a member of numerous scientific associations. In 2010 he was appointed a corresponding member of the Finnish Literature Society ( Suomalaisen Kirjallisuuden Seura , Helsinki ). Pantermöller is currently on the editorial board of the Finnish journal Sananjalka ( Turku ). Until 2017 he was also on the editorial board of the specialist journal Virittäjä (Helsinki).

Pantermöller is the managing director of the Hans Werner Richter Foundation and one of two festival directors of the Nordic Sound , the largest annual festival for Northern European culture outside Scandinavia and Finland in Germany .
