Markus Bernhardt

Markus Bernhardt (* 1959 ) is a German history teacher .

Bernhardt studied history and Latin for teaching at the University of Gießen from 1980 to 1985 and completed his legal clerkship in 1986/87 . In 1989 he received his doctorate . He then worked as a teacher, first from 1990 to 1995 at the Wilhelm Bracke Comprehensive School in Braunschweig , then from 1995 to 2002 at the Gymnasium im Schloss in Wolfenbüttel . From 2002 to 2008 he worked as a university assistant for history didactics at the University of Kassel , where he completed his habilitation in 2007 . In 2007 he was a substitute professor for history didactics at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main , and in 2008 he accepted an appointment at the Freiburg University of Education . In the 2011 summer semester, Bernhardt accepted a chair for history didactics at the University of Duisburg-Essen .

Bernhardt is a textbook author and made contributions to games in history lessons and image skills in the didactic discussion.
