Markus Hasler (born October 3, 1971 in Eschen ) is a former Liechtenstein cross-country skier who started for the Lower Country WSV.

Career

Markus Hasler has been on cross-country skis since 1979. In 1992 he made his debut in the Cross-Country World Cup and took part in his first Olympic Games . His best career result was a third place in the 2001 Sprint World Cup in Cogne, Italy . In a fall in the World Cup pursuit race in Sapporo in 2007, the Liechtensteiner sustained a serious shoulder injury. Only in the following season could Hasler slowly find his way back to his old performance and started in ski marathons and the World Cup in Falun .

In 1996 and 2003 he was elected Sportsman of the Year in Liechtenstein .

Personal

Markus Hasler is the son of the former cyclist Ewald Hasler . After his death, Markus Hasler took over his electronics business.
