Markus Kaim

Markus Kaim (* 1968 ) is a German non-fiction author , political scientist and lecturer.

Kaim completed a degree in political science , medieval and modern history , philosophy and comparative religion . In 1998 he was awarded the dissertation between global hegemony and regional limitation at the University of Bonn . American politics in the Arab-Israeli conflict 1991–1996 to the Dr. phil. PhD. In 2006 he completed his habilitation at the University of Jena with the thesis The European Security and Defense Policy. Preference-building and negotiation processes in the European Union (1990–2005) .

In 2007 he was the representative of the chair for "International Politics / Foreign and Security Policy" at the University of Konstanz and then for a few months he held the DAAD guest chair for "German and European Studies" at the University of Toronto . Since mid-2008 he has headed the “Security Policy” research group at the Science and Politics Foundation - German Institute for International Politics and Security in Berlin. He is also a lecturer at the Institute for Political Science at the University of Zurich and guest lecturer at the Hertie School of Governance in Berlin.

Markus Kaim has been on television as an expert on international crises since 2014 .
