Markus Kastenholz

Markus Kastenholz (born May 28, 1966 in Geisenheim ) is a German writer .

Life

Markus Kastenholz grew up in the Rheingau and began writing fantastic stories in his youth. He finished his school education with the Abitur and then studied Comparative Religious Studies at a university of applied sciences , but had to drop out after three semesters for financial reasons. He then completed a commercial apprenticeship and then worked in the organizational management of political parties.

In 1998 he gave up his job and took care of his parents in need. Since then he has also increasingly devoted himself to his writing. He writes short stories and novels with a focus on fantasy such as science fiction , fantasy and horror , but also crime novels . In some cases, Kastenholz publishes under a pseudonym . He is co-editor of Nocturno , the “magazine for dark fantasy”. The story collection Red Jacket and the Perverse Wolf was awarded the Vincent Prize in 2016.

Kastenholz has lived in Bad Krozingen in Baden-Württemberg since 2005 .
