Quilengues (also Kilengues ) is a small town and a district in Angola .

history

The settlement began around 1770 by Portuguese . In 1870 the place was raised to a small town ( Vila ) under Portuguese colonial administration and has since been the seat of its own district.

Quilengues is the seat of a district of the same name ( Município ) in the province of Huíla . The district covers an area of ​​4464 km² with over 110,000 inhabitants (2014 estimate). From now on, the 2014 census should provide reliable population data.
