Quipungo is a small town and county in Angola .

Quipungo is the seat of a district of the same name ( Município ) in the province of Huíla . The district covers an area of 7633 km² with 221,502 inhabitants (extrapolated estimate 2014). From now on, the 2014 census should provide reliable population data.
The district of Quipungo is made up of five communities (Comunas):
history
On May 31, 1993, Unita guerrillas attacked a train near Quipungo, which derailed, killing 355 people.
