Markus Lenzing

Markus Lenzing (born April 18, 1967 in Wuppertal ) is a German musician and trombonist with the Gürzenich Orchestra in Cologne .

In 1987, after just one and a half years of trombone lessons, Markus Lenzing became the state winner of the nationwide youth music competition and a young student at the Robert Schumann University in Düsseldorf . He then completed his internship in Duisburg at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein in the 1992/1993 season. From 1984 to 1996 he was a member of the Junge Deutsche Philharmonie , at the same time took on guest engagements with the Bochum Symphony Orchestra and from 1996 to 1998 he played in the Tyrolean State Theater Innsbruck . Since the 1998/1999 season, Markus Lenzing has been the deputy first trombone in the Gürzenich Orchestra Cologne , since 2000 with the bass trumpet as an additional instrument .

In addition to his work as an orchestral musician, Markus Lenzing has been involved in the Christian music scene since the 1990s. In 1990 he released his debut album Posaunissimo . Produced by Klaus Heizmann , a collaboration began with, among others, his studio choir Resonanz , in which Markus Lenzing initially worked as a trombonist until Heizmann finally put him in charge in the mid-1990s. In 1994 Lenzing released the self-titled album Resonanz mit dem Chor. He also became known as a composer and arranger of new sacred music and Christian pop music , as well as a studio musician and collaborator for numerous concept projects such as Fascination Trombone of influential Christian music producers such as Jochen Rieger .

Finally, Markus Lenzing received a teaching position from the Robert Schumann University of Applied Sciences in Düsseldorf , where he works as a lecturer for trombone and brass chamber music. He lives in Wiehl .
