Markus Matthießen

Markus Matthießen (born January 1, 1973 in Hanover ) is a Schleswig-Holstein politician ( CDU ). He is married and has two children.

Life

After completing secondary school, Markus Matthießen did his military service with the army aviators and trained as a banker. Before joining the state parliament, he was an independent financial advisor for Bausparkasse Schwäbisch Hall at Raiffeisenbank Lauenburg .

Markus Matthießen is a member of the CDU, where he is chairman of the Lauenburg / Elbe branch and deputy chairman of the Duchy of Lauenburg. He is involved in local politics as a city representative in the city council of Lauenburg / Elbe, district council member in the Lauenburg district council and member of the regional development committee. In the early state elections in Schleswig-Holstein in 2009 , he was directly elected to the Schleswig-Holstein Landtag in the Lauenburg-Süd state constituency, to which he belonged for the 17th electoral term . In the state parliament he was a member of the European Committee and the Petitions Committee. In the state elections in 2012, he lost to Olaf Schulze (SPD) in his constituency .

In addition, he is a long-term member of many associations and clubs.

After Lübeck Airport opened for bankruptcy , it was announced in July 2014 that the Hong Kong-registered and Beijing-based PuRen Group of Chinese businessman Yongqiang Chen will take over the airport. Markus Matthießen was appointed managing director of the property company that is acquiring the airport. In April 2015, the airport operator announced that Matthießen would surprisingly hand over the management on May 1, 2015 after less than a year.
