Markus Ottosson (born August 17, 1986 ) is a Swedish cross-country skier .

Career

Ottosson, who starts for Skellefteå SK , finished 43rd in the skiathlon and 12th in the sprint at the 2005 Junior World Championships in Rovaniemi . In January 2006 he ran his first race in the Scandinavian Cup in Skellefteå and achieved 24th place over 15 km classic. At the Junior World Championships in 2006 in Kranj , he came in 30th place in sprint, 25th place in skiathlon and 22nd place over 10 km classic. In March 2006 he was in Kalix Swedish junior champion over 10 km freestyle and in the 20 km mass start race. At the U23 World Championships in 2008 in Mals , he achieved 27th place over 15 km classic, 22nd place in the sprint and tenth place in the 30 km mass start race. In the 2009/10 season he reached 12th place in the overall ranking of the Scandinavian Cup with four places in the points. He made his debut in the Cross-Country World Cup in November 2010 in Gällivare , which he finished in 69th place over 15 km freestyle. The following month in Düsseldorf he took 26th place in the sprint, his first and so far only World Cup points. At the Winter Universiade 2011 in Erzurum he came in 28th place over 10 km classic, 27th place in skiathlon and ninth place in sprint. Since the 2012/13 season he has mainly taken part in ski marathon races. In April 2016 he won the classic Fossavatn Ski Marathon over 50 km and took fourth place in the Wasalauf in March 2017 .
