Markus Pauzenberger

Markus Pauzenberger (born August 8, 1965 in Munich ) is a German politician ( SPD ). From 2006 to 2011 he was a member of the House of Representatives .

Life

Markus Pauzenberger grew up with three siblings in Munich and moved to Berlin in 1988. He is partnered and lives in the Berlin district of Wedding.

education and profession

From 1983 to 1986 Pauzenberger completed an apprenticeship as an industrial clerk at Krauss-Maffei AG in Munich, where he also worked as such. From 1986 to 1989 he graduated from the technical college in Munich and Berlin, and from 1989 to 1994 he studied at the Berlin School of Economics and successfully completed his studies.

From 1995 to 1997 he was state secretary of the Berlin Jusos . From 1997 to 2014 he was head of the Berlin office of MEPs and Vice-President of the EU Parliament Dagmar Roth-Behrendt . He has been working for Sven Kohlmeier , Member of the Bundestag , since 2015 .

politics

In 1993 Markus Pauzenberger joined the SPD. From 1993 to 2002 he held various functions there: district spokesman for the Jusos, department chairman , district delegate and state party congress delegate . From 1999 to 2006 he was a district councilor at the Berlin-Mitte district council . Pauzenberger was deputy district chairman of the SPD-Mitte from 2002 to 2008. Until 2018 he was chairman of the SPD Panke-Kiez in Berlin-Wedding. From 2014 to 2020 he was state chairman of the SPDqueer (formerly Schwusos) Berlin and a member of the state executive committee of the SPD Berlin.

In the 2006 parliamentary elections, he won 32.1% of the votes as a direct candidate in the constituency Mitte 1 and thus prevailed against the runner-up Ramona Pop . As a member of parliament, he was a member of the Sports Committee and the Petitions Committee . He was spokesman for sports politics for his parliamentary group from 2006 to 2011. In the 2011 parliamentary elections , he ran again in constituency 1 as a direct SPD candidate, but was unable to defend his mandate.

He has been the honorary treasurer of the Berlin regional association of the Europa-Union Germany since 2014 .
