Markus Schulte-Lünzum

Markus Schulte-Lünzum (born July 16, 1991 in Haltern , today Haltern am See) is a young German athlete in the sport of mountain biking and has been an elite rider since 2014.

Career

Schulte-Lünzum's home sports club is the ATV Haltern . In 2007 he won all races of the U17 mountain bike Bundesliga and also secured the German championship title. In 2008 he finished 8th in the U19 class at the Mountain Bike World Championships in Val di Sole in Italy. He has been driving for the German SKS MIG since 2008, which became the Focus MIG Team in 2010 and the Focus XC Team in 2013. In 2009 he won the German championship title in the U19 Cross Country Mountain Bike category in Schotten . At the 2009 European Mountain Bike Championships in Zoetermeer (Netherlands), he finished 5th. In the German relay he won bronze at the 2012 World Championships in Champery (CH) and 2013 in Pietermaritzburg (RSA).

In 2013 and 2014 he was athlete of the year in the Recklinghausen district. In 2016 he became German champion of the elite in XCO for the second time after 2014 in Wombach.
