Marlene Stenten

Marlene Stenten (born January 23, 1935 in Aachen ; † May 2, 2019 ) was a German writer .

Life

After attending secondary school, Marlene Stenten worked as a foreign language correspondent in a shipping company and then in her parents' grocery store . From 1957 she did an apprenticeship as a bookseller and worked in this profession until 1968. Then she moved to Berlin . Since 1979 she has been based in Konstanz as a freelance writer .

Marlene Stenten was the author of novels and short stories , most of which were influenced by her own experiences as a lesbian . In 1973 she was awarded a prize for literature from the state of North Rhine-Westphalia .

Stenten died on May 2, 2019.
