Marliese Arold
Marliese Arold (born March 29, 1958 in Erlenbach am Main ) is a German children's and youth author . She also writes under the pseudonyms Andrea Adler and Jonathan Cole .
Life
Marliese Arold was born as the youngest of three children. She wrote her first poems when she was eight and her first detective novel when she was twelve . Her favorite books included The Red Zora and Her Gang by Kurt Held and the Adventure Stories by Federica de Cesco . In addition, she liked to draw and was fascinated by expedition reports on foreign countries and animals.
After graduating from high school, she married and studied at what was then the University of Applied Sciences for Libraries in Stuttgart with a focus on children's library . In 1980 she moved back to Erlenbach and devoted herself increasingly to writing. With her first publications, the first volumes of the science fiction series for children ZM Strengkret , she finally became a full-time writer for books for children and young people in 1983. Their daughter was born that same year and their son two years later.
Today Marliese Arold lives with her husband in Erlenbach. She has now written over 180 books that have been translated into up to 20 languages. Her books often deal with problems that young people are confronted with in everyday life. So from 1994 she researched intensively on topics such as anorexia ( completely weightless ), ecstasy ( full of madness ), AIDS ( I want to live ) and most recently the life of Turkish women in Germany ( as free as you? ).
