The Martin Luther Church in Goldenstedt is the parish church of the Evangelical Lutheran parish of Goldenstedt, which belongs to the Oldenburger Münsterland parish of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Oldenburg .

history

The Simultaneum mixtum had existed in Goldenstedt since 1650 , in which Catholics and Protestants celebrated their services together in the then Simultankirche St. Gorgonius . In 1847 the construction of the Martin Luther Church began according to plans by the Oldenburg architect Hero Dietrich Hillerns . The Simultaneum ended after its inauguration in 1850.

Building description

It is a five-bay hall church made of brick in the neo-Romanesque style with a tower and apse . The church is structured by pilaster- like buttresses , and round-arched friezes are located above the arched windows .

Bells

Both for the ev.-luth. as well as for the cath. The church in Goldenstedt was cast bronze bells by the Otto bell foundry from Bremen-Hemelingen. In 1921, the Martin Luther Church received two Otto bells with the striking tones f 'and as'. The f 'bell was melted down during World War II. In 1950 Otto delivered a new f 'bell to replace it. Its diameter is 1205 mm. It weighs approximately 1020 kg. The old as'-bell rings with her. Their diameter is 990 mm. She weighs 586 kg.
