Life

His father was a farmer (or a carpenter?). Martin first learned the carpentry trade in Skalitz (Skalica) and at the age of 18 organ building in Brno (Brno). He settled in his hometown Brezová and founded an organ building workshop there. First he carried out minor work such as repairs and in 1834 built his first own organ for the Protestant church in Brezová. Then he built or modified around 100 other instruments.
