Martin Fürchtegott Brooder

Martin Fear God brooder (* 19th December 1851 in Meerane , † 31 May 1935 in Dresden ) was a German mechanical engineering - engineering and university teachers .

Life

Martin Grübler studied mechanical engineering in Dresden and Leipzig between 1870 and 1880 and passed the technical senior teacher examination in Dresden in 1880 . During his studies in 1871 he became a member of the Erato Dresden singers . He completed his habilitation in the field of mechanics and taught as a private lecturer at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich . In 1886 he was appointed full professor of mechanics at the Riga Polytechnic , and in 1900 he was appointed full professor of technical mechanics (succeeding Christian Otto Mohr ) at the Dresden University of Technology . He stayed at the TH Dresden until 1920 and from 1910 was also director of the collection for technical mechanics and graphic statics .

Among other things, Grübler dealt with kinematics . The Grübler equation is named after him.

Honors

Grübler was awarded an honorary doctorate from the University of Giessen in 1927 , and an honorary doctorate from the University of Riga in the same year .
