Martin Haftmann

Martin Haftmann (born July 16, 1899 in Dresden , † July 23, 1961 ) was a German football player .

Career

Haftmann began playing football at Sportlust Dresden and belonged to the Dresdner SC from 1925 to 1933 . At the end of his first season he emerged as the champion of the Gauliga Ostsachsen and won the Central German Championship on April 25, 1926 with a 3-0 victory over SV Fortuna Leipzig 02 , which he also succeeded in at the end of the 1929, 1930 and 1931 season.

Due to the regional successes, he took part with the team in the respective seasons in the final round of the German championship. He played that 1-0 at Breslauer SC 08 on May 16, 1926 , as well as the last 16 game that was lost 3-0 at Bayern Munich on June 16, 1929 .

The trained car mechanic ended his career at Fortuna Dresden .

National team

For the international match scheduled for October 2, 1927 in Copenhagen , for which Reich trainer Otto Nerz first used the new World Cup system as a tactical game scheme , he came along with Ernst Blum , Hans Brunke , and Richard Hofmann , his later teammate at Dresdner SC , used for the first time in the senior national team; the test against the national team of Denmark was lost with 1: 3. While Brunke and Hofmann made further international appearances, it was his only appearance in the national jersey for him and Blum.
