Martin Kotynek

Martin Kotynek (* 1983 in Vienna ) is an Austrian journalist . He has been editor-in-chief of the daily newspaper Der Standard since November 2017 and was deputy editor-in-chief of ZEIT Online from 2014 .

Life

Martin Kotynek was already as a student for the magazine trend and the electrical Journal operates. He studied neurobiology at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich and completed his master's degree .

He then worked for the Süddeutsche Zeitung for five years , initially as a political editor, and finally responsible for the topic of the day . In November 2017 he became editor-in-chief of the daily newspaper Der Standard . He succeeded Alexandra Föderl-Schmid , who left the newspaper at the end of August 2017, the editor-in-chief was then taken over by deputy Rainer Schüller on an interim basis until November 2017.

In addition to his work as a journalist, he is a member of the Ensembles Theater am Weinberg in Perchtoldsdorf , where he has worked as both a director and an actor since 1998 and was spokesman for the board from 2006 to 2015.
