Martin Malvy (born February 24, 1936 in Paris ) is a French politician of the Parti socialiste (PS) who was a member of the National Assembly (Assemblée nationale) , State Secretary and Minister. He was also President of the Midi-Pyrénées Regional Council from 1998 to 2015 .

Life

Mayor, member of the National Assembly and State Secretary

Martin Malvy, a grandson of the politician and interior minister Louis Malvy several times , worked as a journalist . On March 20, 1970, he became a member of the General Council of the Lot department for the Parti socialiste (PS) for the first time and represented the canton of Vayrac there until March 23, 2001 . In addition, he became Mayor of Figeac on March 25, 1977 and also held this office until March 23, 2001. In the parliamentary election of March 12, 1978, he was elected for the first time as a member of the National Assembly (Assemblée nationale) and represented there after his re-election in the parliamentary elections of June 14, 1981 between April 3, 1978 and August 24, 1984 the Department Lot.
