Martin O. (born November 17, 1975 ; real name Martin Ulrich ) is a Swiss vocal artist , beatboxer and musician .

Life

The eastern Swiss Martin Ulrich grew up in Abtwil up in a musical family. As a child, his violin and piano playing and musical interest were encouraged. Shortly after completing his primary school teacher training , he decided to make music his profession. His spectrum ranges from classical vocal elements to rhythmic beatboxing. He works as a composer for his own programs, but also for film, drama, circus and other music projects. In 2001, 2007 he founded the company "Stimmart GmbH".

Artistic career

As a member of the a cappella group “hop o'my'thumb”, Martin Ulrich was touring on stages in Germany and abroad for several years. After a few successful years together, the group broke up in 2006 and said goodbye to the stage. From 2006 to 2011 he was the musical director of the “Hot Appenzell Choir”.

Martin Ulrich has been traveling as Martin O. since 2007 ; he created his first solo program, "Voice Dancer". In 2011 the “Cosmophon” was added, and since March 2016 he has also been a guest with his third stage program, “Der Mausiker”. Martin O. transforms his voice with the help of his "Symphonium", a loop device built into walnut wood , into an orchestra and choir.
