Viliumas Malinauskas (born November 13, 1942 in Skaisčiūnai , Marijampolė municipality ) is a Lithuanian entrepreneur, museum director and founder, winner of the Ig Nobel Prize .

Life

1949–1956 Malinauskas attended the Skaisčiūnai school and 1956–1958 the 2nd Kapsukas Middle School . 1958–1963 he learned at the technical center in Kvietiškis . He then served in the Soviet Army in Chuhujiw ( Ukraine ). From 1968 to 1975 he studied at the Veterinary Academy of Lithuania . From 1978 to 1986 he worked as the head of the "Komunaras" collective farm near Radviliškis . From 1986 to 1987 he was a beekeeper in the Druskininkai Forestry Department . From 1991 to 1997 he was director of UAB “Madma” and since 1997 he has been running his own mushroom trading company UAB “Hesona”.

In 2001 he established the Grūtas Park .

His son is Ričardas Malinauskas (* 1965), politician and mayor of the Druskininkai municipality.
