Martin Owusu-Antwi gained his first international experience at the Summer Universiade 2015 in Gwangju , where he was eliminated in the 100-meter run with 10.97 s in the quarter-finals and with the Ghanaian 4-by-100-meter relay with 39, 99 s eliminated in the preliminary round. The following year he retired from the African Championships in Durban in the 200-meter run with 21.02 s in the semi-finals and finished sixth in the relay in 40.21 s. In 2018 he took part in the Commonwealth Games in the Australian Gold Coast , over 200 meters , and reached the semifinals there, where he was eliminated with 25.95 s. In 2019 he took part in the Africa Games in Rabat for the first time and made it through the 200 meters to the semi-finals, in which he was eliminated with 20.97 s and won the gold medal with the relay with a new player record of 38.30 s. This gave him a starting place in the relay for the World Championships in Doha , in which 38.24 s were not enough for a final .
