Martin Peichl (* 1983 in the Waldviertel ) is an Austrian author who lives in Vienna .

Life

Peichl studied German and English at the University of Vienna . After numerous publications in anthologies and literary magazines, his first novel How to Repair Things was published in February 2019 , “a clever story about the life of two people in their mid-thirties”. In July 2019 he read as part of the 10th edition of the Popfest in Vienna. Peichl's novel was in the final of the Alpha 2019 literary award and on the shortlist of the blogger award from Das Debüt , and he also received a book award from the Austrian Federal Chancellery.

In addition to prose, he also writes poems, for example on beer mats, which he hands out at his readings. Peichl is also the organizer of the reading series “In a Complicated Relationship with Austria”, which takes place regularly in Vienna.

Peichl teaches German, English and scientific writing at a Viennese high school.
