Martin Rehm

Martin Rehm (born March 5, 1985 in Kronach ) is a German photographer living in the Nuremberg metropolitan area .

Life

Rehm grew up in Altenkunstadt ( Lichtenfels district ), completed high school, military service and initially an apprenticeship as a banker. He studied at the Technical University of Georg Simon Ohm Nuremberg communication design with a focus on photography and following the Master of Business Administration at the University of Ansbach . After completing his first degree, he started working as a freelance artist (photographer) in 2013. Parallel to his work and studies, he curates exhibitions and developed the Delta-Moment-Modell®, which from a photo-theoretical point of view deals with the essential factors that make up good photography.

In particular, his thesis “Disappeared” received greater attention and raised public awareness of the issue of company insolvencies, job losses and the associated fate of former workers and employees.

In 2014, Rehm was honored for his photographic commitment to tolerance and human rights by the Nuremberg Human Rights Center eV (NMRZ) in cooperation with Nikon .

After winning numerous prizes and various exhibitions of his works, Rehm's first museum exhibition “Made in Franconia. People. Photos. Professions. ”In the Museum for Industrial Culture in Nuremberg . "To present professions in an appealing and above all authentic way, without idealizing or falsifying" was the aim of Rehm's work.

In his diverse photographic work, Rehm artistically deals with questions of humanism , social philosophy , human rights , as well as with people and their work.
