Martin Schreiner (* 1958 in Munich ) is a German Protestant theologian , religious educator and university professor . Since May 2013 he has been a part-time Vice President for Foundation Development at the University of Hildesheim Foundation .

Life

academic career

After completing his basic military service, he studied at the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München (LMU) from 1978 teaching at grammar schools with the subjects Protestant religious studies and German. He passed the first state examination in 1984, the second state examination after internship at various Munich high schools in June 1986. From 1987 he worked as a research assistant at the chair for Protestant religious education and didactics of religious education at the LMU with Hans-Jürgen Fraas . After his doctorate as Dr. theol. on February 23, 1991 he was a research assistant at the LMU from May 1991 and after his habilitation on July 11, 1995 then since August 1995 senior assistant. During this time he also held lectureships at the University of Applied Sciences for Religious Education and Church Educational Work in Munich-Pasing and at the University of Bayreuth .

On June 26, 1996 he was appointed private lecturer and took over the representation at the chair for Practical Theology II at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz . Since April 1997 he has been Professor of Protestant Religious Education at the Institute for Protestant Theology of the Hildesheim University Foundation. In 2005 he turned down a call to the Evangelical Theological Faculty of the Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg . In addition, Martin Schreiner taught from 1998 to 2015 as part of additional teaching assignments at the Technical University of Braunschweig , at the Evangelical Theological Faculty of the University of Vienna and at the Leibniz University of Hanover. From 2005 to 2011 he was Dean of Faculty 1 (Education and Social Sciences) at the University of Hildesheim Foundation.

Martin Schreiner has been CEO of the Barbara Schadeberg Foundation since October 25, 2017, member of the board of trustees of Diakonie Neuendettelsau and member of the Society for Scientific Religious Education (GwR), the Society for Protestant Theology, the Scientific Society for Theology (WGTh), the two international networks child and youth theology as well as scientific advisory board of the CJD , spokesman for the Theological-Pedagogical Study Commission Lower Saxony and member of the humanities class of the Sudeten German Academy of Sciences and Arts .

research

Martin Schreiner's research focuses on theologizing with children and young people, theory and practice in Protestant schools, religious teaching and learning processes as well as education in times of religious indifference and today's images of God among children and young people.

Private

Martin Schreiner was born as the son of the physician Lorenz Schreiner and his wife Ursula. In 1989 he married in Münster 's art and German teacher Dr. Sabine Schreiner (née Schnitker), who is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Paul Schnitker Foundation.
