Martin Tetz

Martin Tetz (born May 22, 1925 in Dölitz in Pomerania ; † January 31, 2017 in Mittenwald ) was a German Protestant theologian and church historian .

Life

After serving in the war and being a prisoner of war, Tetz studied Protestant theology in Bonn , Göttingen and Basel . In 1955 he was in Bonn with a thesis studies tradition of dogmatic writings of Athanasius of Alexandria to Dr. theol. PhD. After an assistantship in Göttingen , he completed his habilitation in Bonn with the Antilogy of Eutherius von Tyana . From 1965 to 1990 he was professor of church history at the Evangelical Theological Faculty of the Ruhr University Bochum and until 1999 headed the Patristic Office Bochum of the North Rhine-Westphalian Academy of Sciences , where he was responsible for the publication of the works of Athanasius .

Tetz was married and had three daughters.
