Martin Topel

Martin Topel (born May 23, 1962 in Munich ) is a German industrial designer and university professor.

Life

Topel studied industrial design at Mathildenhöhe in Darmstadt . After working for Matteo Thun in Milan , he co-founded Studio Topel and Pauser Industrial Design in 1990 . By 2000, offices were opened in Stuttgart, Darmstadt and Frankfurt.

He was appointed to the German Werkbund in 1999 . He has received several awards for his work, including several iF Design Awards and the red dot design award .

In 2000 he received a call to the chair for capital goods and system design (design) of the University of Wuppertal . His chair deals with the product development of capital goods and product systems. The focus is on the analysis and evaluation of the holistic product context and the development of innovations capable of intellectual property rights within the framework of functional and economic framework conditions.

In 2001, together with Gert Trauernicht Visionlabs at the University of Wuppertal, he founded a project platform for visionary product development with industrial partners. In 2002 the agency Squareone GmbH was founded in Düsseldorf .
