Rachel Marsden (born December 2, 1974 in Vancouver ) is a Canadian columnist and is an advocate of conservatism .

Life

Marsden grew up in Port Coquitlam . She studied at Simon Fraser University and the British Columbia Institute of Technology . She graduated in 1990 with a degree in broadcast journalism . Marsden attended the National Journalism Center in 2003 . She worked for conservative newspapers such as the National Post , Toronto Sun and The Washington Times , then for the Free Congress Foundation and from 2004 to May 2007 for the Fox News Channel . In 2006 Marsden moved to New York .

In the USA and Canada, she also became known through some scandals and provocative remarks. She is compared to Ann Coulter because of her polemics . Among other things, she advocated torture of prisoners in Guantánamo .

On May 30, 2007, Marsden was removed from Fox's Red Eye with Greg Gutfeld show for problematic behavior and taken out of the house by in-house security forces.

A brief relationship with Jimbo Wales in February 2008 sparked a debate about how blogs transform and threaten personal life.
