Martin Ziaja (born September 16, 1981 in Moers ) is a German musician.

As a bass player, Ziaja was twice awarded first prize in the Jugend jazzt competition of the German Music Council . Ziaja played in various music projects / bands such as Sandy, Marc Terenzi , Cosmo Klein , The Pops / Der Popolski Show , Xaver Fischer , Yamaha house band, Wolfsheim , Lou Bega, Hape Kerkeling , Mars, Declan, Boy George , Udo Jürgens , Lionel Richie , "Danke Anke (2002 / house band)", " TV total ", "Karaoke Showdown" RTL, " Kölner Treff (house band)" and with the Swiss pop and soul singer Stefanie Heinzmann .

Ziaja was best known for his joint appearances with Achim Hagemann . As the bass guitarist of the pseudo-Polish cabaret marching band The Pops , he was on tour under the pseudonym Janusz Popolski in The Popolski Show . With this band he was nominated for the Prix ​​Pantheon in 2006. Ziaja became known nationwide in the role of Janusz Popolski with the WDR production "Chacken in der WDR", where he appears as the silent protagonist of several feature films.

Martin Ziaja lives in Düsseldorf and works as a music teacher.
