Xaver Fischer (born August 24, 1972 ) is a German keyboard player and jazz musician .

Live and act

Xaver Fischer received his first classical piano lessons from his mother, a classical pianist, at the age of six. With Birth Control he recorded four albums by 1999, two of which he also produced. In 1998 he founded his own trio. At a time when it seemed indispensable to have a DJ on stage and to work with samples, loops and laptops, the Xaver Fischer Trio deliberately avoided it and played danceable lounge electric jazz on the "classic" instruments keyboard and bass and drums. This makes the sound of the trio different from most NuJazz productions of the late 1990s. The first album was released in 1999 on Unique Records and received a lot of attention in the club scene. Numerous live performances followed (including Jazz Cafe London, Mojo Club , Bizarre Festival , Montreux Jazz Festival ). Between 2000 and 2005 the band released three more albums, some of which made it into the top 20 of the German jazz charts . Today the band is considered one of the best live acts in the German NuJazz scene. Fischer is regarded as an important German pioneer of lounge music played live.

Xaver Fischer taught pop keyboard and jazz piano at the Robert Schumann University in Düsseldorf from 2005 to 2010 and was editor for the keyboard area of ​​the online magazine bonedo.de from 2010 to 2012. He also worked as a sideman, studio and session musician for Roger Cicero , Monika Linges , Gunter Gabriel , Sasha , Sarah Connor , Stefan Raab , Uwe Ochsenknecht , Udo Schild and others. Xaver Fischer is currently a member of the King Kamehameha Club Band .
