Martina Gregory Ness (* 23. September 1959 in Altdöbern as Martina Gregory ) is a German politician ( SPD ). She was a member of the Brandenburg State Parliament from 1994 to 2014 .

Life and work

After graduating from high school , Martina Gregor-Ness began studying at the Engineering School for Mining and Energy in Senftenberg in 1980 , which she finished in 1983 as an engineer for mining technology / open-cast mining. This was followed by a job as a production engineer for drainage in the Meuro open-cast lignite mine . From 1985 to 1989 she was employed as a technologist in the Proschim opencast mine . From 1990 to 1997 she was responsible for disposal, contaminated sites and landfills at Lausitzer Bergbauverwaltungsgesellschaft mbH.

From 2000 to 2004 she completed a part-time course to obtain a degree in business administration at the Administration and Business Academy in Cottbus .

Gregor-Ness has two children and was married to Klaus Ness (SPD), who died in 2015, since 2007 .

politics

Gregor-Ness has been a member of the SPD since 1993, from 1999 to 2004 she was chairwoman of the SPD in the Oberspreewald-Lausitz district, and from 2004 to 2006 she was deputy state chairwoman of the SPD Brandenburg .

Her active political career began as a community representative in Großkoshen . In 1994 she ran for the district council in the Oberspreewald-Lausitz district and was elected as a member of parliament, in the same year she became a member of the Brandenburg state parliament for the first time. After the state elections in Brandenburg in 2014 , she left the state parliament.

From 2003 to 2019 she was a member of the Senftenberg City Council .

In January 2010 she entered the election of the district administrator in the Oberspreewald-Lausitz district as a candidate for the SPD, but was defeated by the non-party candidate Siegurd Heinze .

She has been a member of the Oberspreewald-Lausitz district council since 2014 and has been its chairman since then.

Honorary positions

Gregor-Ness has been a member of the supervisory board of Klinikum Niederlausitz GmbH since January 2004 and a member of the supervisory board of Vattenfall Europe Mining AG since June 2010 . In 2014 she was elected honorary president of the Brandenburg State Water Association.
