Martina Steuk
Martina Steuk , born Martina Kämpfert (born November 11, 1959 in Berlin ), is a former German middle -distance runner who specialized in the 800-meter distance .
In 1977 she became Junior European Champion in 2: 01.7 min. At the 1980 Olympic Games in Moscow, she was fourth.
In 1981 she married the hammer thrower Roland Steuk . In 1981 and 1982 she was GDR champion. On February 14, 1982 she ran 1: 58.4 min at the GDR indoor championships in Senftenberg . She set the indoor world record for Olga Wachruschewa , but her time was not recognized as a record because of the oversize of the tartan track in the Aktivist sports hall (today Niederlausitzhalle ). Shortly thereafter, she won silver at the European Athletics Indoor Championships in Milan .
After a break of several years, she came third twice in the GDR championships in 1987 and 1988. In 1982 she was awarded the Patriotic Order of Merit.
Martina Steuk is 1.68 m tall and weighed 60 kg during her active time. She started for TSC Berlin .
