Martinez

Martinez (* 1981, real name Martin Swanstein ) is a Danish DJ and music producer in the field of house . He is also the founder and owner of the labels “Out Of Orbit” and “Re: connected”.

biography

Martinez grew up in Helsingborg ( Sweden ), near the Danish island of Zealand . He is proficient in various musical instruments ( keyboard , guitar and flute ), but from an early age he concentrated on djing and producing electronic dance music . Initially, however, he was still too young to become involved in the Helsingborg clubs, as the Swedish alcohol policy and the related protection of minors generally prohibit minors from entering discos. He then organized his first events on Helsingborg Beach, where he himself appeared as a DJ. After submitting a demo tape, he co-produced his first pieces at Wrong Steps Studios together with French producer Manuel Perez. Exactly on his 18th birthday, he played the closing party of the Stockholm International Film Festival .

In 2000 he moved to the musically more fertile Danish capital Copenhagen , where he still lives and produces today. From there he signed his first major recording deal with the Chicago-based label 'Guidance Recordings'. With the following publications, the path that Martinez went with his productions changed and tended more and more towards deep house , tech house and broken beat. After the success of the release "Skywalker EP", which appeared on Steve Bug's Dessous Recordings , and the growing booking inquiries, he founded the label Out of Orbit in 2004 . On this he not only released his first album, but also offered producer colleagues such as Trentemøller or Robert Babicz a release platform .

Martinez's second label, re: connected, which he uses to release his minimal house tracks, was founded in 2006/07. He also publishes regularly on Moon Harbor Recordings and Lomidhigh .
