Martino Destro

Martino Destro (* 1968 / 1969 ) is a former German football player .

Life

Destro began playing football in 1983 and was a member of the Hamburg Dolphins . As a student, he stayed in the United States for a while and also practiced the sport there. From 1989 to 1994 he strengthened the Hamburg Silver Eagles and also got involved in the club's work as deputy chairman.

Destro, who was used as a linebacker , played for the Hamburg Blue Devils from 1995 to 1999 . In 1996 he became German champions with the team. When he won the Eurobowl in 1996, he did not take part because he had been suspended by coach Chris Merritt , in 1997 and 1998 he was in the Eurobowl victories. In 2000 he became a member of the Blue Devils coaching staff and thus contributed to winning the German championship titles in 2001, 2002 and 2003. From 2004 he was with some of his former teammates like Jan-Hendrik Wohlers and Florian Dannehl a member of the staff of the second division Hamburg Eagles and remained in office until 2006. In Schleswig-Holstein's youth team , Destro was responsible for the defensive line as a trainer, he also worked as a trainer for the Hamburg Amazons , and at the end of 2012 he took over the job of the defensive line for the Hamburg Swans in the major league. Subsequently, Destro was a member of the Hamburg Pioneers' coaching staff until spring 2018 . From November 2019 he returned to work for Hamburg Swans.
