Martino Severi

Martino Severi is a former Italian racing car driver .

Career

Severi was a works test driver at Ferrari in the 1950s and 1960s . In this role, he also rose to become the official test driver of the Scuderia from the mid-1950s and was always the first to drive the new racing cars. In 1959 and 1960 he was a test driver in Formula 1 .

The fast Italian became a driver in 1957 and competed in sports car races for the Scuderia. In the same year he was also at the start of the 24-hour race at Le Mans and at the end of the race sat in the only factory Ferrari that crossed the finish line. Together with Stuart Lewis-Evans , he drove a Ferrari 315S in fifth place in the overall standings.
