Marvel's Spider-Man is an action-adventure game developed exclusively for the PlayStation 4 by the American development studio Insomniac Games . The game was first introduced at the Electronic Entertainment Expo 2016 in Los Angeles and was released worldwide on September 7, 2018. The publisher is Sony Interactive Entertainment .

The game features numerous well-known heroes and villains from Marvel comics and films, but it tells a stand-alone story in which a mature Peter Parker has been a superhero protecting his hometown from super villains for several years. The setting is a fictional Marvel version of the city of New York City .

The three-part DLC bundle The City that Never Sleeps was released for the game from October to December 2018 .

23-year-old Peter Parker has established himself as the protector of New York City for eight years now and is at the height of his powers. Privately, the college graduate works as a scientist in a laboratory; In the role of the superhero Spider-Man , he fights super villains like the crime boss Wilson Fisk, who is up to mischief under the name Kingpin . Gameplay

Marvel's Spider-Man is an action-adventure game in which the character is controlled from a third-person perspective . The player acts in an open game world that is freely available for exploration. The skills of net swinging and climbing house walls are available for locomotion. Public transport can also be used for fast travel and, for example, you can ride on the roof of a train. Locations known from the comics and films, such as the embassy of Wakanda , the headquarters of the Avengers or the Sanctum Sanctorum of Dr. Strange can be found in the game world.

The combat system consists of punches and kicks, the use of shots from the Spider-Man's net nozzles and the use of additional aids, such as trip hazards, net bombs with stunning effects or a drone that shoots enemies from the air. In addition, numerous objects from the environment can be used and, for example, objects can be thrown at enemies with the nets. The fighting options can be combined with each other and so a fluid, acrobatic fighting style is achieved. In the course of the game, accumulated experience points are invested in improving skills. In addition, for successfully completed side missions, players receive so-called tokens, which can be used to unlock different suits.

Mister Negative
