The Marvin Nunatak is a striking and 2090 m high nunatak in the East Antarctic Victoria Land . It rises 1.5 km south of the Depot Nunatak on the western flank of the Cassidy Glacier west of the Quartermain Mountains .
The Nunatak was probably first sighted by participants in the British Discovery Expedition (1901-1904) when they set up a food depot at the neighboring Depot-Nunatak during a reconnaissance march in 1903. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named him in 1992 after the US geologist Ursula B. Marvin (1921-2018), who took part in the ANSMET program in Victoria Land (1978-1979 and 1981-1982) and from 1983 the advisory committee of National Science Foundation for Polar Research Programs.
