Marxdorf is a district of the municipality of Vierlinden in the Brandenburg district of Märkisch-Oderland .

history

First as Marckwerßdorff , later in Markxdorf , then Margstoff and since 1805 the place has been named as Marxdorf. Marxdorf was first mentioned in a document in 1244. The place is a typical anger village and was founded by the Knights Templar . They built a village church in the middle of the 13th century . Later followed as liege lords of the Order of St. John , from 1556 to 1571 in the meantime the Brandenburg Margrave Hans von Küstrin and later the Prussian King. In the middle of the 20th century the place experienced a modest economic boom. The parish then had the church tower rebuilt in neo-Gothic forms. The village school closed in 1971.

The former municipality merged on October 26, 2003 with the previously independent municipalities of Diedersdorf , Friedersdorf and Worin to form the municipality of Vierlinden.
