The place Neuentempel was first mentioned on January 18, 1247 in a document from Pope Innocent IV . Neuentempel was equipped with 30 hooves when it was founded.

Neuentempel was incorporated into Diedersdorf on July 1, 1964 . The municipality of Vierlinden was created on October 26, 2003 from the voluntary amalgamation of the previously independent municipalities of Diedersdorf, Friedersdorf , Marxdorf and Worin .
